As a member of the open road, you may or may not have experienced the horrible noise that comes from either an old muffler or a teenage kid trying to make his car sound cool. The noise is essentially like having a motorcycle drive past you, except the noise will literally knock your socks off. For years, it has to be known that police departments have been receiving complaints about these mufflers, especially when they are driving down a suburban street at midnight.

Many police departments have deemed that no driver is permitted to drive a vehicle that makes unnecessary or excessive noises that are made by machinery, the motor, tires, or any other parts. While there are only a few sheriff departments that have officially released statements regarding the new crackdown on vehicles, it will turn into a national movement, because to have the muffler of a car sound like a motorcycle is just unnecessary.

Hopefully this will calm some of the road ragers out there, mainly because they will no longer be concerned that they are going to hit a guy on a motorcycle that really is not even there. Now, if you happen to just have an older muffler on your car and have been meaning to get it replaced, it would be best advised to get that done soon, so you are not mistaken for having an intentionally loud muffler.
